Rep. Jeremie Dufault takes oath of office, begins first term in state House of Representatives for 15th District

Holding up his right hand, newly elected State Rep. Jeremie Dufault, R-Selah, took the oath of office Monday, beginning his first term representing the 15th Legislative District. The ceremony took place at noon in the House of Representatives on the first day of the scheduled 105-day 2019 legislative session.

“It is the greatest honor of my life to be here in Olympia representing my friends and neighbors up and down the Yakima Valley,” said Dufault. “I look forward to working with other elected officials on both sides of the aisle and making our state an even better place.”

Dufault is a native of Yakima. He attended the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General School at the University of Virginia. Dufault is a major in the U.S. Army Reserve, having served in Kuwait and Afghanistan. He lives in Selah with his wife and two daughters, and is a real estate developer/investor. He recently served on the Selah City Council.

The 15th District lawmaker will serve on three House committees, including the Judiciary, Business, and Transportation committees.

During the legislative session, Dufault will maintain an office in Olympia.
